Marking technology
Overview
For more than 30 years we have been dealing with electrolytic marking technology. Thanks to our many years of experience and the high production standards of our German manufacturing, we can offer you various marking devices as well as the appropriate accessories for your special application:
- Marking devices for individual part marking
- Marking devices for serial inscriptions
- Marking devices for mass labelling
- Accessories such as electrolytes, stencil printers, stamps and much more.
Marking technology | Process
In electrolytic marking (electrochemical marking), a controlled low current is passed through a stencil onto a metallic object. This causes the lettering of the stencil to form on the workpiece.
Electrochemical marking is comparable to the screen printing process. However, instead of paint, electrolyte and electricity are used. Our electrolytes are light salt solutions that pose no danger to the user.
When the stencil is placed on your component and the current is applied, controlled oxidation takes place.
Due to the wide power setting of our marking devices from 12 to 24 volts, the marking can be applied either as dark or light marking.
Marking technology – marking result:
The marking produced in this way is of extremely high quality, abrasion resistant, heat & seawater resistant, does not produce any deformations, burrs or structural changes. This means that the marking technology can also be used for highly sensitive components such as in the aerospace industry and in medical technology. However, other sectors such as the automotive and food industries have also relied on electrolytic marking for decades.
Despite the increasingly popular laser systems, our customers in knife production are still very satisfied with the marking technique. Since the damage to the surface is reduced to a minimum with electrochemical marking, even the subsequent use of a dishwasher cannot produce any corrosion!
Marking technology | Advantages
- High marking speed
- Marking result as with laser
- Marking without burrs
- Suitable for almost all geometries
- Dark & light lettering possible
- More cost effective than laser marking
- Abrasion, heat & sea water resistant
- Individual labelling | texts, logo, 2D codes, etc.
Marking technology | Application areas
All electrically conductive materials can be marked with our marking devices. Both flat and cylindrical components are permanently marked. Thanks to our own stamp production, we can easily supply you with carbon stamps that are specially adapted to your component! The appropriate electrolytes make high-quality marking results possible on a wide variety of materials.
- Geometries of all kinds - flat, round, concave, convex
- For electrically conductive materials such as stainless steel, titanium, hard metal, etc.
FAQ
We would be happy to present our marking devices to you in person or create free sample markings for you.
The electrolytes we use are in no way toxic. They are a specially developed salt solution.
For electrolytic marking you need the marking device, a carbon stamp, felt, electrolyte, Neutralyt and a short & or long term stencil. You receive the required accessories directly with our original equipment!
Die Lieferzeit ist in der Regel 5-7 Werktage.
You are not sure whether a corresponding marking is suitable for your component?
Then use our free sample labelling service. We will create the desired marking directly on your components!
