Pin marker | Procedure
Marking with a pin marker is extremely durable and forgery-proof. An oscillating carbide needle is used to imprint the marking into the workpiece. The embossers are operated electrically or pneumatically.
Depending on the speed of movement of the marking needle, the marking result appears as dot or line writing. With our pin markers, simple alphanumeric texts as well as logos or DataMatrix codes can be produced. The process is ideal for markings that need to be visible over a longer period of time or over the entire product life cycle.
With our versatile pin marker selection, you will find the right system for both small and large series marking.
The detailed setting of the marking parameters allows pin marking of almost any material! With a fine adjustment, pressure-sensitive, coated or lacquered surfaces can be marked without piercing the layer. The markers are also suitable for more robust materials such as hardened steel up to 64 HRC.
Pin Markers | Strengths
- Good value
- Fast marking
- Hardly any wear parts
- Minimum set-up effort
- Flexible use - mobile & stationary
- Can be integrated into production lines
- Compaction of the surface - no material removal
- Permanent marking over the life cycle

- Pin markers for various materials - from paper to hardened steel
- Pin marking of a wide range of geometries - flat, cylindrical, in recesses
Use of the pin markers
Electric and pneumatic pin markers are suitable for marking almost all materials. Whether metals, plastics or wood products, the marking parameters can be adjusted so that all materials can be marked.
The markers can permanently mark soft materials such as plastic or aluminium, but also hard materials such as brass or hardened steel. With our pneumatic pin marker, marking depths of up to 1mm in steel can be realised!
MATERIALS
- Metals of all kinds
- Plastics of all kinds
- Wood products of all kinds
- Coated materials
- Painted surfaces
- Hardened materials up to 64 HRC
The detailed setting of the marking parameters enables the marking of different materials with only one pin marker.
From paper to hardened steel, anything is possible!
GEOMETRIES
Our pin markers are real all-rounders! Both flat and cylindrical workpieces as well as components with interfering contours can be marked. Mobile pin markers are suitable for larger components or mobile marking. Stationary devices are often used for smaller components or series marking.
- Smallest components stationary
- Large workpieces mobile
- Workpieces with interfering contours
- Flat components
- Uneven workpiece surfaces
- Marking in recesses
- Cylindrical components radial and axial
FAQ
When marking with a pin marker, the marking is created by closely spaced dot punches of a solid carbide needle. The result is a dot or line marking. The marking is permanently imprinted.
The marking parameters of our pin markers can be adjusted so finely that sensitive materials can be marked without chipping.
No micro-cracks occur during pin marking. The surface is compacted.
The pin marking process is approved in almost every industry. Even in the aerospace industry, where laser marking is excluded, pin marking is approved.
